Archives
The Driskell Center is committed to collecting, documenting and presenting African American art as well as replenishing and expanding the field of African diasporic studies.
The Archives Collections
The Archives document and preserve the histories of Black art and artists, making them broadly accessible to researchers, scholars, and students working toward a more democratic world. The Driskell Center currently holds eleven archival collections and has recently received a grant from the Terra Foundation of American Art to establish a new archive devoted to its unique history as the only public institution dedicated exclusively to the study of Black art.
